Locations: Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing. 776 6th Ave. 27th St. NY, NY 10001
The purpose of this one day workshop is to provide students, nurses, and other health professionals with practical tools for enhancing patient/nurse communication. Beauty issues such as drug-related hair loss, overweight, complexion problems, chronic fatigue, injury, surgery, and chronic pain as they impact appearance, or allergic reactions greatly impact upon self-image. Beauty issues may interfere with a patient's willingness to complete medical treatment. Job-related stress for health professionals, as it impacts appearance, as well as allergic- and illness-related reactions will be addressed with natural methods and materials commonly used in traditional Asian health traditions. They will include foods, herbs, and natural treatments.
Healthy Beauty provides easily understood, useful information suitable for a home-care or hospital setting. Attention paid to personal appearance enhances mutual trust and comfort between health professionals and their patients and private clients.
Letha Hadady, D.Ac. Author of “Asian Health Secrets” and “Healthy Beauty” is the fascinating instructor. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, “Letha Hadady, one of the nation’s leading experts on natural Chinese remedies, is leading a quiet lady-like revolution to bring herbal medicines into everyday use in American homes.”
