Course Description:
Evidence based research has changed the way we care for wounds. Wound care has evolved as we have grown to understand the variety of wounds and the conditions that favor their treatment or those that create an environment for worsening. This program will offer the nurse an opportunity to hone wound assessment skills, identify evidence based principles of wound management ,and improve patient outcomes.
Faculty:
Jane Ellen Barr, RN, MSN, ANP, CWOCN
Jane Barr is an internationally and nationally known wound care specialist who has presented and published on a variety of wound care topics. She is a member of advisory boards for Wound Management and teaches at the Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing as an Associate Professor with specialty in wound, ostomy and continence related health problems. Her dynamic style promotes critical thinking and encourages practice based on evidence from research.
